A man holding a propane lantern descends into the Cheese Cave, a 2,000 foot lava tube that was first discovered in 1894 and later used for cheese storage by the Guler Cheese Company near Trout Lake, Washington. We lucked out when we visited the cave on a winter day when the sun was at just the right angle to send a shaft of light straight into the opening of the cave creating a rare and beautiful moment.
